Certification codes

You create certification codes to allow employees to record their certifications, such as WHMIS or CPR.

Creating certification codes

To create a certification code, follow these steps: 

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Certification Codes.
  2. Select Create Certification Code.
  3. Complete the following fields: 

    Field Description
    Code Type This field fills automatically.
    Name Enter a unique name for the code.
    Description Enter a description for the code.
    Inactive For new codes, set this switch to No. If you set this switch to Yes, the code is inactive and cannot be used.
    # of days to notify before expiry Enter a number of days to indicate how far in advance expiry notifications should send to employees and supervisors for this code.
    Issued By Choose whether employees are required to provide the name of the certification issuer.
    Certification Number Choose whether employees are required to provide the certification number.
    Issued Date Choose whether employees are required to provide the certification's issue date.
    Renewal Date Choose whether employees are required to provide the certification's issue date.
    Expiry Date Choose whether employees are required to provide the certification's issue date.
  4. Select Save.

Editing certification codes

To edit a certification code, follow these steps: 

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Certification Codes.
  2. On the certification code you want to edit, select Edit.
  3. Update the fields as required. Refer to the field descriptions in Creating certification codes if needed.
  4. Select Save.

Deleting certification codes

To delete a certification code, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Certification Codes.
  2. On the certification code you want to delete, select Remove.
  3. On the confirmation window, select Delete.
