Skill codes

You create skill codes to allow employees to record their skills, such as Excel or typing proficiencies.

Creating skill codes

To create a skill code, follow these steps: 

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Skills Codes.
  2. Select Create Skill Code.
  3. Complete the following fields: 

    Field Description
    Code Type This field fills automatically.
    Name Enter a unique name for the code.
    Description Enter a description for the code.
    Inactive For new codes, set this switch to No. If you set this switch to Yes, the code is inactive and cannot be used.
    Acquired Date Choose whether employees are required to provide the date they acquired the skill.
    Expiry Date Choose whether employees are required to provide an expiry date for the skill.
    Skill Level Choose whether employees are required to state their level of proficiency in the skill.
  4. Select Save.

Editing skill codes

To edit a skill code, follow these steps: 

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Skills Codes.
  2. On the skill code you want to edit, select Edit.
  3. Update the fields as required. Refer to the field descriptions in Creating skill codes if needed.
  4. Select Save.

Deleting skill codes

To delete a skill code, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, select HR > Configurations > Skills Codes.
  2. On the skill code you want to delete, select Remove.
  3. On the confirmation window, select Delete.
